Some dream of greatness, others of fame, fortune and adoration. Captain Thornton’s dream was rather different – to offer the finest fish and chips in Yorkshire. Since his earliest days as a lowly deckhand in his local chippy, the captain’s fascination and passion with the fish and chip industry was plain to behold. As the young deckhand grew, fate took him far from his humble roots but he never forgot his passion. Now he’s back, master and commander of his own chip shop, overseeing everything to make sure each detail is suitably shipshape.
Captain Thornton’s is a family business and is owned and managed by James and Emma Thornton. Captain Thornton’s was formed in late 2014 and we have worked tirelessly to produce the finest fish & chips and an amazing experience for our customers. Only freshly mixed batter, the finest sustainable fish and select British spuds make the grade.

Opening Hours
Both Dib Lane and Chapel Allerton have the same opening hours, apart from Fridays and Saturdays at Chapel Allerton, the lunch times are until 2pm.
